Funeral for Elizabeth C. Barnes of Decatur will be Friday, August 3, 2012, at 10 a.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with Rick Eichelberger and Mark Posey officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Barnes died Wednesday, August 1, 2012, at her home. She retired as an executive secretary from Decatur Utilities. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Mrs. Barnes was preceded in death by her parents, Prayther Chandler and Lottie T. Chandler; her brother, Robert Perry Chandler; and her aunt, Bess Toungette.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, John Paul Barnes; two sons, John Barnes (Betty F.) and Greg Barnes, both of Decatur; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Brian Barnes, Daniel Barnes, Kevin Barnes, Samuel Barnes, Roy Russell and Carl Smith.
Honorary pallbearers will be Andy Byars, Alvin Byars, Josh Byars and Drew Byars.
