

George Walter Comston, 92, of Decatur, Alabama passed into eternal peace on March 27, 2023 following an illness. George was born in Columbus, Ohio on April 28th 1930 and has been a resident of Decatur for the past 45 years.
George was a Quality Control Inspector for National Electric Coil Co. and transferred to Decatur to continue his career in the Electric Motor repair business. George was a member of the South Decatur Church of God, where he held various positions.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Verla; father, Clyde Comston; mother Mildred Reed and son in law, Dannie Helms.
George leaves behind his children, Richard Comston and Mary Helms of Decatur; his granddaughters, DeeAnn (James) McCormick and Dedra Helms; as well as many nieces, nephews, and 10 grandchildren.
Visitation will be held March 29th from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Roselawn Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held March 30th at 1:00 PM with Rev. Jay Rhodes officiating at Roselawn Funeral Home. Burial Services will be held at the Midway Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be David Pinion, Jim Barnett, Travis Chapman Sr., Travis Chapman Jr., Dale Ellis, and J.W. Church.
The family requests contributions be made to Hospice of The Valley, instead of flowers.
Roselawn Funeral Home has the honor of serving the family.
