He was a baptized believer who was an active member of Wesley Memorial until his health declined.

He is preceded in death by his parents, eleven siblings, and beloved granddaughter, Christy Hughes Harper.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 74 years, Sharon Nelson Hughes; children, Mickey Hughes, Kelli McInnis (Tom), and Edie Ramey (Robert); grandchildren, Kyle McInnis (Kelly), Haley McInnis, and bonus granddaughter Brittany Fontaine (Jason); twelve great grand children.

He was a veteran, serving in the Korean War. A successful business man. The highlight of his career was starting his own businesses, ACE Construction.

He enjoyed spending the day on the golf course, playing cards with friends, swimming laps at the aquadome and reading a good book.

He never met a stranger, lived life to the fullest, was loved by many, and will be greatly missed.

There will be a graveside service held at Roselawn Cemetery in Decatur, AL on Monday April 20th at 2 P.M.
