
Funeral service for James Howard Larson, 87, of Decatur will be Tuesday, March 6, 2012, at 1 p.m. at Annunciation of the Lord Catholic Church with Father Ray Remke officiating and Roselawn Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Burningtree Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the church.
Mr. Larson, who died Friday, March 2, 2012, at Decatur General Hospital, was born July 13, 1924, in Chicago, Ill. He graduated from Cathedral High School in Indianapolis in 1941 and from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1948. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp until 1952. After his military career, he worked as an engineer for the Boeing Company and retired in 1981. He attended Notre Dame University after high school. He was a member of Annunciation of the Lord Catholic Church, Burningtree Country Club and was a lifetime member of the Elks Lodge and American Legion. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine George Larson; one daughter, Kimberly Joy Gildea; three brothers and one sister.
Survivors include two daughters, Claudia Winkelman (David) and Nancy Jo Littlefield (David); brother, Joseph P. Larson; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be David Larson, Joe Larson Jr., David Winkelman, David Littlefield, Glenn Seeman and Jim Waldrop.
Memorials may be made to St. Ann Catholic School Educational Fund.
