
James (Jim) Houston McCulloch, 80, of Decatur, AL, passed away Thursday, November 16, 2023. A Graveside Service will be held at Roselawn Cemetery in Decatur on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at 3:00 PM. The service will be officiated by Pastor Mike Eaton.
Jim is survived by his wife of 62 years, Glenda Phillips McCulloch; son, James Philip McCulloch (Beth); daughters, Dana McCulloch Barry and Leslie McCulloch Ivey (Richard); grandchildren, James Wheeler McCulloch (Karen), Amanda Barry, Jonathan Parker Ivey (Shelby), Mattie McCulloch Stokley (Nathan), Hannah Elizabeth McCulloch (Justin), Caleb Houston Ivey, and Coleman Joseph Ivey and great-grandchild, James Thomas McCulloch; siblings, Joe McCulloch, Bruce McCulloch, Glenda Oakley, Gloria Gilliam and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James A. and Dorothy Sparks McCulloch and siblings Ann Raines, Linda Eaton, Angie McCulloch, and Betty Eagle.
Jim was a graduate of Decatur High School and served four years in the Air Force in Roswell, New Mexico. He dedicated over 34 years of his career to TVA serving as a Unit Operator and an Assistant Shift Engineer working in Alabama, Kentucky, and Tennessee. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church. Jim was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He loved supporting his grandchildren in whatever they participated in, whether that was sports, music, or 4-H activities.
Pallbearers will be Wheeler McCulloch, Parker Ivey, Nathan Stokley, Caleb Ivey, Coleman Ivey, and Justin Paczkowski.
