Survivors include brother, Mervyn (Susan) Michael, a son, Mike (Bonnie) Boozer, a daughter, Janet Boozer, two grandchildren, Michael (Lauren) Boozer, and Alan (Jennifer) Boozer, three great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Jane grew up in North Alabama and attended Decatur High School. Jane graduated from Huntingdon College with a Math/Teaching degree. She met her husband, Asa, in college. The couple moved to Atlanta where Jane taught high school math while Asa completed his Masters of Divinity degree at Emory University. Jane and Asa moved to Jackson, AL to serve McCann's Chapel and start a family. Over the years the couple moved to serve Cloverdale UMC in Dothan, AL, St. Luke UMC in Enterprise, AL, Marion UMC in Marion, AL, and First United Methodist Church of Ozark, AL.
Jane was active in the church. She taught Sunday school, chaperoned church youth trips, gave countless devotionals, led arts and crafts at VBS, directed weddings, held Christmas open house annually, was a member of United Methodist Women, the Garden Club and Hill Toppers, served on Church boards and committees, helped prepare fellowship suppers, and continued to serve by visiting those in need in homes, hospitals, assisted living, and nursing homes. She volunteered with Committee on Church Cooperation providing assistance with clothing and meals for the less fortunate.
Jane was a Christian who lived a life of service to others in her family, church and community. Jane was grateful for the friendships she shared and cherished them along her journey. Jane enjoyed traveling domestic and abroad, crafting, sewing, gardening, cooking, reading, game night, collecting angels, keeping in touch with friends. Jane was a loving sentimental person who was big on preserving traditions and being there for family and friends.
Jane struggled with Dementia for the past five years, but always continued to do her best with any task at hand. Jane never lost faith in her Lord Jesus Christ. Jane was in a memory care facility at the time of her passing. We are grateful for the dear friends and caregivers who showed love, compassion, and support for Jane.
We celebrate Jane's life and know that she is well in the arms of her heavenly Father. There will be a private service at later date.
