

John Edward Ingouf (May 14, 1932-January 18, 2026) was born in Shreveport, Louisiana, to John and Blanche Crain Ingouf. He graduated from Byrd High School (1950) and Baylor University (1954). John went to New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, where he met and married Glenn Green. He graduated in 1957.
John served as a pastor (Union Baptist in Joyce, Louisiana; West Hartselle Baptist in Hartselle, Alabama), then as International Mission Board missionary (1960-1989) in Thailand briefly, then Indonesia. From 1989-1999, he continued to serve the Lord as a Richmond Regional Associate at the IMB office in Richmond, Virginia.
John and Glenn retired to Decatur, Alabama, in 1999 and were active members at Central Baptist Church. John and Glenn taught Sunday School, and John often preached at Brookdale Cedar Springs Senior Living Center. He loved the Lord and faithfully memorized much of God's Word. He was an avid tennis player, artist, and had a good sense of humor. He made sure to document all the details in his family's life through photography.
He is predeceased by his wife, Glenn Green Ingouf (1932-2024), son Michael Jonathan Ingouf (April 2-3, 1957) and daughter Ann Catherine Ingouf (1961-1972). He is survived by children: Susan Lafferty [Todd], John D. Ingouf [Casey], Julie Ingouf; grandchildren:
Becca Lafferty, Jenna Long (Josiah), Jonathan Lafferty (Ashley), Laura Ingouf, Anna Ingouf, Emily Ingouf; great-grandson: Theodore Long.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 23, from 10-11 AM at Roselawn Funeral Home, with the Celebration of Life Service to follow at 11 AM, Dr. Todd Lafferty officiating.
