

Lillian Mary Etta Day Blalock, of Decatur, passed away on Wednesday, November 25th, 2015. Visitation will be Saturday, November 28th 9:30 am at Roselawn Funeral Home with funeral to follow at 11:00 am. Mrs. Blalock was born on June 23rd, 1923. She attended Cullman High School. Mrs. Blalock was a homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She was a past member of the Eastern Star of Decatur, an active member, Sunday School Teacher, played in the ukulele choir at Central Baptist Church. She was an avid fisherman who enjoyed spending time with her family at the cabin on Smith Lake. Mrs. Blalock was preceded in death by her parents: Jessie Samuel and Mary Francis Millican Day, her husband: Maxie P Blalock Sr.; six brothers: Mell, Jurl, Curtis, Collis, Carmel and Frank; and three sisters: Stella Green, Beulah Webster, and Eulah Head; one son: R. Wayne Blalock. Mrs. Blalock is survived by three Children: Peggy Blalock Thrasher (Jess) , Sandra Blalock, and Maxie P. Blalock Jr. (Debbie); Twelve Grand Children: M. Collier Blalock (Karen), Robbin Johnson (Chris), Heather Clay (Mark), W. Todd Blalock (Pam), J. Taylor Blalock (Mary), Paige Thrasher (Bengie) Solley, Nicole Thrasher Jackson (Chris), Elyse Thrasher Throneberry (Steven), S. Brad Gallik (Christina), Heath Blalock (Leslie), Christy Blalock Cox (Bruce), and Maxie P. Blalock III; and twenty-one Great-Grandchildren: Carson, Langston, Connor, Ella Grace, Jane, Belle, Tristan, William and Julia Blalock; Taylor Bentler, Abigail and Anna Johnson; Will and Lilly Clay; Sawyer, Skyler, and Saylor Solley; Corey and Cole Jackson; and Anna-Grace and Grayson Throneberry; and one Great-Great-Grandchild: Maxie Chase Blalock. Her pallbearers will be her six grandsons. The family requests memorial gifts to be sent to the Central Baptist Church Building Fund.
