Lorene Vest Harville, aged 93, passed away peacefully at her home on April 18, 2025, surrounded by those that she loved dearly.
She was born on June 3, 1931, in Morgan County, to Leeman and Fannie Grace Vest. She had ten brothers and sisters who shared a very close relationship of love and concern for each other. Lorene was a member of Somerville Road Church of Christ and enjoyed the fellowship with her Church friends.
Lorene married the late Fred Harville in 1955, and they had three children who became the joy, love, and focus of their lives. The family moved to Priceville in 1965, and she spent the last 60 years there. For a portion of her life Lorene had a career in sales, but her primary focus was taking care of her family. She loved her children and was blessed with an expansion of her family as she welcomed new in-laws, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She loved to travel with her family to school events, activities, and vacations. Her lap became a favorite spot for young grandchildren to nap while taking a break from the busy activities of a trip. She was a loving and caring person, devoted wife, mother, and friend, always thinking of others. She had no limit to the love that she offered to all. She loved to laugh and had a great sense of humor that she passed down to her children.
Lorene loved gardening and became very adept at canning delicious homemade soups, jams, jellies, and vegetables that were enjoyed by many. She had a love of animals and provided a safe and loving place for feral cats to have food, water, shelter, and a caring voice.
In her later years she received great support from wonderful caregivers and Gentiva Hospice of Cullman. The family would like to thank them for the loving and respectful care they provided.
