Marie Johnson, 91, of Decatur, passed away Sunday, November 26, 2017 at Riverside Assisted Living. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 28, 2017, at Roselawn Funeral Home from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. The service will follow at 1:00 pm at the funeral home with Dr. Ben Hayes officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Johnson; parents Thurmon and Lattrice Ford; brother, Daly Ford; sisters, Eloise Wilkes and Annie Marlon Dunn.
She is survived by two daughters, Cathy Ryan (Rickey) of Decatur and Brenda Burns (David) of Killen; five grandchildren, Jonathan Ryan, Meahgan Miller (Tyler), Matthew Ryan, Brad Burns (Karen), Jessica Brown (Scotty); five great-grandchildren, Bennett Ryan, Connor Burns, Chloe Burns, Clayton Brown, and Emma Claire Brown; brothers, Edsel Ford (Johnnie) and Charles Ford (Glenda).
Mrs. Johnson was a member of the Southside Baptist Church, where she served faithfully for over 60 years. She loved studying the Bible and ministering to others. Even as her health declined, her dry wit and sense of humor entertained all who cared for her.
