Mary Ann Catlett Smith, 80, of Decatur passed away December 18, 2012, at Decatur Morgan Hospital. She was born on July 16, 1932, in Decatur to Robert Eads Catlett Sr. and Hortense Calmes Catlett. Mrs. Smith was retired from the Department of Human Resources, and was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church in Decatur. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Sam Lile Smith; and brother, Jack Calmes Catlett Sr.
Graveside service will be Friday, December 21, 2012, at 10 a.m. at Decatur City Cemetery with the Reverend David Palmer officiating and Roselawn Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include one brother, Robert Eads Catlett Jr. of Roanoke, Va.; sister-in-law, Jacquelyn A. Catlett of Athens; niece, Karen Catlett of Athens and her sons, Jamie and Frank (Mindy) and grandsons, Jackson and Cooper; and nephews, Jack Calmes Catlett Jr. of Birmingham, Neil Andrew Catlett (Sarah) of Suffolk, Va., and his children, Drew and Katie.
Honorary pallbearers are Jack Catlett, Andy Catlett, Jamie Catlett, Frank Catlett, Drew Catlett, Jimmy Brothers and Chris Sansing.
