

Visitation will be held at Roselawn Funeral Home on March 10, 2026, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. A committal service will take place at Burningtree Memorial Garden at 2:00 pm.
Mr. Sheats graduated from Lawrence County High School in 1969. Ralph Joined the Army National Guard. He faithfully attended Somerville Road Church of Christ where he carried multiple roles over the years. Prior to retirement, he worked 34 years at International Paper in Courtland, as a control room operator.
Ralph is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Debra Sheats; two sons, Doyle Sheats (Brooklynn) and Derek Sheats; three grandchildren, Ansley, Camden and Briggston; two siblings, Larry Sheats and Sonia Terry.
He is preceded in death by his father, Rubert D. Sheats; mother, Mildred Irene Montgomery Sheats and brother, Clifton Sheats.
Over the years, Mr. Sheats carried many titles, amongst them was husband, father, grand daddy, brother, uncle, friend and coach. He carried each of these titles with the utmost pride. In his early years, he was an outstanding baseball player, known as the Home Run King amongst his peers. As years moved on, his love of the game transferred to coaching his children and watching them excel. To date, he still enjoyed time at the ball field watching his grandchild. His smile and booming voice made an impact wherever he went.
Pallbearers will be Doyle Sheats, Derek Sheats, Jason Sheats, Chris Tatman, Timothy Hall and Avery McElroy.
