Troyce Anthony (Troy) Douglas, 60, of Danville, Alabama passed away on Saturday, August 23, 2025, surrounded by his family and closest friends. He was born on January 16, 1965, to James Troyce and Carol Jean Crandall Douglas. He was a welder by trade and enjoyed his job immensely. He was an avid hunter and loved fishing trips with his brother. His absolute favorite thing to do was to spend time with his grandson.
Troy was known for his hard exterior, but kindness exuded inwardly. He hated crowds but his close friends and family got to see his softer side. His kindness, love for others, and heart of gold did show through and he will be remembered for those things by those he loved dearly.
Even after his life ended, he found a way to give to others by being an organ donor. Though we grieve his loss, we take comfort in knowing that he is reunited with loved ones and we will see him again.
Troy is preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Denise Renee Douglas Waters of Rock Springs, Wyoming, and his nephew, Levi Alan Hokanson of Cullman, Alabama.
Survivors include one son, Richard Alan Douglas of Columbus, Mississippi; two sisters, Stephanie Douglas Barnette (John) of Decatur and Cassie Wilson (Pete) of Boise, Idaho; two brothers, Glen Keys (Shirley) of Tallahassee, Florida and Reed Wilson of Mobile, Alabama; one grandson, Weston Cole Douglas of Decatur; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date to allow all family time to travel.
