

Walter is survived by his devoted wife, Donna Wright; brother-in-law, Robert Harris; sister-in-law, Jill Hallmark; niece, Jasmine Malone; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Norma Jean Wright, and his brother, Dwayne Wright.
Walter was a loving husband, son, brother, and friend whose kindness and faith left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. In his younger years, he was a musician. He enjoyed sharing his musical talents and had a deep appreciation for music. An electrician by trade, Walter took pride in his work and was known for his strong work ethic and willingness to help others.
A faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Walter’s life was guided by his unwavering faith in God. He found joy in many things, including cheering on the Alabama Crimson Tide and attending football games whenever he could. He also loved traveling with his beloved wife, Donna, creating treasured memories together. Among the many places they visited, Lake Tahoe held a special place in his heart.
Above all else, Walter cherished time spent with family and friends. His warm spirit, steadfast faith, and genuine love for others will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Walter’s life during a visitation on Thursday, May 28, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home. Walter will be laid to rest at Decatur City Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be H.M. Nowlin, Michael Schreck, Jeff Legg, Jim Norman, Steve Wright, and Eddie Rose.
