Willard Lee Coffey

Willard Coffey was born on May 27, 1931, to Russell and Bessie Coffey. He graduated from Lawrence County High School in 1949 and married his sweetheart, Reble Sue Evans, in 1953. Together, they were blessed with four children: Gary Coffey (Sherlene), Rickey Coffey (Dana), Randy Coffey, and Lori Coffey Lott (Jeff).

He was a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren: Kimberly Pace (Jordan), Jodi Hyde (Cody), Jessica Smith (Kevin), Clint Coffey (Lauren), Mallory Lott, Lydia Coffey, and Evan Lott. He was also blessed with twelve great-grandchildren who loved their Pawpaw dearly.

Willard was a proud U.S. Army veteran who served during the Korean War. After serving a tour in South Korea, he came home and married the love of his life. He had a passion for fishing, gardening, and woodworking in his garage—he was rarely one to sit still. He enjoyed his Friday night domino group and trips with his Happy Highlanders church group. A devoted man of faith, Willard spent many years as a faithful Sunday school teacher and a deacon. He served his church in any way he could. Above all, he cherished time with his grandchildren, whether attending their sporting events or simply just spending time with them.

Willard was a wonderful father and will be missed more than words can express. We find comfort in knowing that he has been reunited with our sweet mother and that they are together in the presence of the Lord. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the hospice care team—Autumn, Otto, Sara, Kim, and Sarah—from Southern Care New Beacon for their compassionate care, support, and kindness.

Visitation will be on Friday, March 27, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at East Highland Baptist Church in Hartselle. A celebration of life service will follow at 1:00 PM. Willard will be laid to rest at Coffey Family Cemetery in Moulton.
