

William A. Norton, 91, of Tilden Township, Berks County, and formerly of Decatur, Alabama died February 8, 2018 in Penn State Health St. Joseph’s Hospital. He was the husband of Nancy (Faust-Anspach) Norton. William, “Bill” was born in Courtland, AL and was the son of the late Willis and Cora (Randolph) Norton.
Bill was a retired U.S. Army Officer, Paratrooper Special Forces, 82nd Airborne. Bill served with distinction in WW II, Korean and Vietnam War. He was a Purple Heart Recipient while serving in Korea.
Bill was the owner/operator of Norton’s Auto Repair in Decatur, Alabama. He last worked for the Decatur City School System as a mechanic before retiring to Pennsylvania.
Bill enjoyed fishing, boating and woodworking. He was always proud of his garden. Bill was a member of the Eagle Aerie 3263, Huntsville, Alabama, the Grand Masonic Lodge of Pennsylvania.
In addition to his wife, Bill is survived by his daughters; Dorothy (Norton) wife of Bill Cabaniss, Denise (Norton) Roden, Alabama, step-daughters; Susan (Anspach) wife of William Senft, Debra (Anspach) Billman, Hamburg, 6 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren.
2 sisters and 2 brothers predeceased Bill.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 15 at 11:00 a.m. at the Roselawn Funeral Home, 741 Danville Road SW, Decatur, Al. with interment to follow in Roselawn Cemetery. A visitation will be held Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
