Francesca Bongiorno

Francesca Bongiorno, age 95, of Deer Park, New York passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2022. Francesca was born December 5, 1926. She came to this country from Castellammare del Golfo, Sicily, with her two young children Vito and Vincenza in 1950 to join her husband, Benedetto. She worked as a seamstress for 48 years, including 10 years for Madonna Heights in Dix Hills before retiring to devote her time and love to her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved being in the kitchen cooking and baking while listening to the music of Perry Cuomo and other Italian artists on Sunday morning. Her bread, pizza, and Italian cookies were family favorites and enjoyed by all visiting the Bongiorno household. Francesca’s deep love for her family and her heritage will be passed on to her loved one’s for many years to come.

Francesca is predeceased by her husband, Benedetto and daughter RoseAnn Bongiorno. She is survived by her children Vito (the late Theresa) of Shirley, NY; Vincenza Randazzo (Antonino) of Commack, NY; and Frank (Rushell) of Wilmington, NC. Beloved grandmother to Vito (Michele), Thomas (Diana), Diana, Elizabeth Muhlenbruck (Steven), Robert Randazzo (Kimberly), Jessica Gibbs (Christian), Danielle Clay (Jonathon), McKenzie Bongiorno, Kimberley, Kayla, and Kassady O’Connor. Cherished great-grandmother to Justine Melendez and Jenna Bongiorno; Gracelyn and Zachary Bongiorno; Aidan, Logan, Ethan, and Riley Randazzo; Samantha and Alexandra Muhlenbruck; Ellyson, Greyson and Memphis Gibbs.

A visitation for Francesca will be held Friday, March 11, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM at Claude R. Boyd-Caratozzolo Funeral Home, 1785 Deer Park Ave, Deer Park, New York 11729. A mass of christian burial will occur Saturday, March 12, 2022 at 9:00 AM at Our Lady of Grace R.C. Church, 666 Albin Avenue, West Babylon, NY 11704. An entombment will occur Saturday, March 12, 2022 at 10:30 AM at Pinelawn Memorial Park and Garden Mausoleums, 2030 Wellwood Ave, Farmingdale, New York 11739.
