Just learned of Jerry's passing. We attended Mepham High School together. Just hearing his name brings up a flood of fond memories. Most from way back when but a few from conversations we had over the last few years. I will miss him.

My sincere condolences/sympathies to Jerry’s family on his passing, which I have just learned of today after trying to reach him by email and texting. Jerry and I were classmates and teammates at Mepham High School.  We kept in touch through the many years after high school and know what a wonderful and caring person he was. God has gained a spiritual and loving Angel. GOD BLESS GERARD (Jerry) WERNER and RIP 🙏💐🙏❤️.

Jerry grew up around the corner from me in Bellmore, NY. He and I reconnected arranging a Mepham reunion.

I was there when Mepham wrestled Calhoun - the first ever and Jerry fought as hard as he could but lost.

Jerry always had a great outlook and a great sense of humor and loved everyone in his large family.  After trying to reach him several times without success I was prepared for the worst.....but he will always have a special place in my heart.

I had the pleasure of knowing Jerry for just a few short years, but from the very first moment I met him, I was struck by his ability to give love whole heartedly. Jerry had a unique way of making everyone feel valued and supported, always ready to lend a helping hand. 

His love for life was infectious. Whether he was sharing a laugh, offering words of encouragement, or simply enjoying the moment, Jerry radiated joy and positivity. He had an incredible spirit that made him seem larger than life.

Jake and Liam really loved Pop Pop and spending time on the Farm with him in Middleburgh, great memories.

Jerry will always be remembered for his generosity as well as his willingness to help others.  “Gerardo” will be sorely missed.

We are deeply sorry to hear about the passing of Jerry. Our hearts and prayers are with his family and friends. Jerry had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone, including strangers.  So many fond and FUNNY memories of Jerry always getting himself in some kind of a predicament like getting his Tahoe stuck in the pond and us going to rescue him.  Jerry with his pope mobile and his sidekick Max by his side. Jerry will truly be missed by everyone who was blessed to know him.
