Howard Terrell was born to Gloria Terrell in Atlanta, Georgia on June 26, 1943. Howard was the eldest of six siblings: Bunny, Ronni, Linda, Ethel, and David.
At an early age he moved to Harlem, NY with his Mother and siblings to have a better life. There, as an adolescent, he developed a love for comic books, basketball, and Martial Arts. He was also a member of a Hispanic Band where he played the Congas.
He enlisted in the United States Army where he was stationed in Korea and several other places. His job in the Army was as a Linesman which required him to climb telephone poles to install communication lines. He received an honorable discharge from the military with accommodations.
On November 24, 1973 he married the love of his life, Gail Terrell. They resided in Wyandanch, NY for nearly 47 years where they were staples in the community. Howard worked at Fairchild Republic as a machinist, in the Amityville School District as an Industrial Engineer and he spent 25 yrs. with LNK International as a Sr. Driver.
Howard, affectionally known as “Butch” by his family and close friends, was not a stranger to God. He served the Lord as an Usher at the Upper Room Christian World Center. He was also an active member of the VFW Post #361 and participated as a driver for The MS Great 8 Foundation where he drove across the country helping the cyclists raise money for Multiple Sclerosis.
Howard passed peacefully from this life on the afternoon of March 6, 2021. He was well loved by his family, friends, the Wyandanch community, and co-workers. He is pre-deceased by his beloved wife Gail. Survived by his cherished children Howard V. Terrell Jr. ( by previous marriage) and Deidre Terrell. A devoted grandad to Iyana Terrell. Loving brother to Ethel Woolridge, the late Bunny Woolridge, Wilfred (Ronni) Woolridge, Linda Woolridge, and David Woolridge. He is forever in the hearts of his first cousins “BROTHERS” Barron Terrell (Evelyn) and Gregory Terrell (Stephanie) along with a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, friends, and extended family. His memory will live within each one of us forever.
