

Louis Posey was born August 21,1940 to the pre-deceased Louis and Ada Posey in Birmingham Alabama. While growing up as a young man Louis was always very smart, energetic, a hard worker and family orientated. After graduating from high school he decided he wanted to move to New York for better opportunities and to be near his older sister Willistean. Louis's first job was in construction cleaning bricks where he was nicknamed (stick) because of his tall and slender build. Louis was always an ambitious young man who wanted more, but this is only where the story begins. In New York is where he met his soulmate a beautiful young lady from North Carolina by the name of Annie Hill. He adored Annie and often referred to her as his sapphire. They courted for a period of time and was united in holy matrimony in 1962 and from that union came two beautiful children Marie Antoinette and Louis III now known as Shakur. Louis then went on to become a New York City bus driver for a period of time before finally becoming a New York City Police Officer a career that he revered. Louis was sworn in as a Police Officer May 16, 1969 as a Nyc Police Officer where he worked in the 6th and 7th precinct on scooter patrol. He retired on May 27, 1987 when his health began to fail. Louis leaves behind to cherish his memories a devoted wife Annie Posey, two children Marie Posey Magezi of Long Island New York, Shakur Latif-Bey of Virginia, two granddaughters Adia Imani Magezi and Niara Sade Magezi, two brothers James ( Dollene) Posey of Georgia, Arthur Posey (Dorothy) of New Mexico, three sisters Willistean Smith of New York, Vera Wilson of New Mexico, Henrietta Posey of New Mexico and a host of brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws.
