Mary Stone

Mary G. Stone (née O’Donnell), beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, October 26, 2025. Born on June 10, 1936, in Scranton, Pennsylvania, Mary lived a life defined by love, service, and devotion to those around her.

In 1956, she married the love of her life James W. Stone, beginning a partnership that spanned more than 52 years. Their life together was filled with warmth, laughter, and unwavering faith. Mary was the proud mother of four children — Mitch (wife Ruth), Pam (husband Kevin), Jeff (wife Jane), Mary Claire (husband Paul), and daughter in law Monica — each of whom was deeply influenced by her love, kindness, strength, and wisdom. Her legacy continues through her thirteen grandchildren — Amanda, Sarah, Justin, Morgan, Billy, Conor, Taylor, Ian, Cormac, Danielle, Kathleen, Alison, and Kristina — and her eight great-grandchildren — Ellie, Brynn, Riley, Hannah, Marlena, Felix, Oliver, and Ken — who will always remember her as a source of endless love, warm hugs and a yummy snack drawer.

A dedicated registered nurse, Mary cared for countless patients throughout her career with the same compassion and grace that she shared with family and friends. Her life was a testament to love, with a presence that filled every room with joy and contagious laughter, leaving a lasting imprint on all she met. She will be deeply missed and forever hold a special place in our hearts.

As per her wishes, there will be a private family funeral. A celebration of her life will be held at a future date.
