January 5, 1943 – March 13, 2026
Ralph Guastaferro passed away peacefully on March 13, 2026, in Dix Hills, New York, at the age of 83. Born in San Giuseppe Vesuviano, Italy, he carried the warmth, traditions, and spirit of his homeland with him throughout his life in America.
A proud Vietnam-era veteran, Ralph built his life around family, loyalty, and quiet strength. He adored his wife, Jane, with a deep and steady devotion that never wavered. Though he was a man of few words, when he spoke people listened often with a touch of his signature sarcasm that those who loved him came to expect and appreciate.
Ralph enjoyed the simple pleasures of life: a good game of bocce, time on the golf course, watching the birds in the yard, and relaxing with the Nature Channel. He appreciated a good meal, especially when it meant sitting around the table with family. Like many great Italian men, he could also be a little stubborn - once Ralph made up his mind, there was rarely much room for debate.
He was the kind of neighbor who quietly showed up when someone needed help, never looking for recognition. Calm, steady, and dependable, Ralph remained levelheaded and strong right up to the end.
Ralph is survived by his devoted daughter, Jill Breslin, her husband Alex, and his cherished grandson, Luke, who brought him endless pride and joy. While our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in knowing he is now reunited in heaven with his beloved wife, Jane, and his sweet daughter, Holly.
He also had a special fan in Ginger, the family dog who doesn’t take to many people but absolutely adored her Papa!
Ralph’s legacy lives on in the values he carried so naturally- loyalty, kindness, humor, and a deep love of family. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Rest in peace, Dad. Your steady presence, your dry wit, and the love you gave so quietly will stay with us always. 💙
