Ralph James Savastano

SAVASTANO - Ralph James, of North Babylon, NY, passed away on June 8, 2024 at the age of 82, surrounded by his 5 children and wife of 57 years. Ralph was a man of profound kindness and endless love for his family and friends. Ralph is survived by his loving wife, Rita Marie; and their 5 children: Michael (Joanne), Nancy (Peter), David (Cassandra), John (Tina) and Lisa (Brian); and his 12 grandchildren: Alex, Catherine, Amelia, Thomas, Madeline, Matthew, Braelyn, Julian, Natalie, Dylan, Nolan and Lily as well as his sister Marie (Paul). Ralph also had a large extended family and many friends. Ralph was a proud veteran of the US Marine Corp serving from 1960-1964. They say what becomes of us is what our fathers teach us in odd moments, when they aren't trying to teach us. We are formed by these little scraps of wisdom often seen in a gentle smile, or a reassuring head nod or just simply consistently showing up and standing in the background. Ralph embodied a father’s love for all of those who knew him and his reassuring presence will continue through what he created here on earth. Visitation will be held at Boyd Caratozzolo Funeral Home on Deer Park Avenue Wednesday 7-9:30; Thursday 2-5, 7-9:30; Funeral Mass St Cyrils and Methodius, Deer Park Avenue, Friday 10:15am
