Here's to you Uncle Sam. You have lit our candle of life for so long. Thank you for giving us so many gifts. Your love to your wife and son, your respect and love of life, and your continued dedication to making us all happy are the gifts that I will always keep fresh in my mind and heart. We love you! The cycle of life is sometimes so hard for those of us left behind to accept.  Yet accept we must...... I'm so grateful for the memories of Uncle Sam, his smile, laughter, his character, hugs, his love.....Rest in Peace dear sweet Uncle. Uncle Sam will always be remembered fondly and with LOVE!  I know you are in a better place and was greeted by so many of your loved ones. I have many memories of you when I was a child. You, Aunt Paula and Butchie  AKA- LOU-we spent many a Saturday night and Sunday afternoons either swimming in the lake,sledding and ice skating on the lake (depending on the season) We have films of Butchie, Uncle Sam, my dad & Peter sledding tandem. Also, I remember going to Smith Point Beach and the father's took their sons into the ocean holding on to them for dear life in the waves,because if anything happened to them they would have hell to catch! We always had so much fun with Uncle Sam, Aunt Paula & Butchie  So many wonderful memories!
As you can see Uncle Sam liked fishing- it may have started way back when my dad and him got a small motor boat. It was docked in Patchogue.  My dad was not the fisherman, Uncle Sam was.  My dad like to sit on the boat, drink his scotch and listen & sing to his Italian music.  Uncle Sam use to get mad at him because he said he was scaring the fish away- dad had to be quiet! But that never happened- it was so funny to see them after a so called fishing expedition!  One time they did catch some fish, my mother said you have to clean them outside and don't use my good knife to scale them. Well , they used her good knife, actually if was Uncle Sam who used the knife! All he did was tap the knife on the table so the scales would fall off! That was  not the only thing that fell off- the blade of the knife fell OFF!  His face was priceless- us kids were hysterical laughing.  All he kept saying was that Lena was going to kill him!  
Uncle Sam was a sweet man- with a kind heart- he will be truly missed.  
All these pictures on here are helping us to remember what a beautiful life he had.  This is the way I remember him! And now we have to say goodbye- and I know we will all be together again-this we are promised!  Much Love Uncle Sam- give kisses and hugs to everyone in heaven!  OXOXOX

There are no words to adequately express the sadness I feel.  However, I know that you, Uncle Sam, are in Heaven with our precious family members who have also passed, and there's great consolation in that.  But you will be greatly missed here on earth.  You were such a warm, loving, affectionate uncle. I will forever have you in my heart. I am so grateful that I got to see you last week and tell you that I love you, even though you probably didn't comprehend what I was saying.  I was overwhelmed when you took my hand and kissed it as I touched your cheek. That memory will be with me always.  Rest in peace, and tell the other rascals up there in Heaven how much we all love and miss them.  Until we all meet again......With love, your niece Elaine

Dear Aunt Pula, Cousin Butch and Arlene,

It is with heavy heart I sighn the guest book of my beloved Uncle Sam.
We have enrolled Uncle Sam in a daily mass prayer
and made a donation in his name.

I will always cherish my fond memories of Uncle Sam.
My favorites to list a few is when he would sing
In Italian, always had a funny comment or joke to be told,
offered words of wisdom, and so on. 
He was such a pleasure to have around, we thourally
enjoyed his company.
 
There was a time my parents went on a vacation to Florida alone.
All 9 children were divided up to be cared for by friends and relatives.
I, Josephine along with by Brother Johnny had the pleasure of
spending a few days with the two of you at your home.
I was so over whelmed with your generosity, going grocery
shopping and picking out whatever I would like,
I had picked Captain Crunch cereal.
It is a time in my life I will always remember fondly.

We are so sorry for your loss and wish you all our best.
I know Uncle Sam is resting peacefully with God and 
all the angles above, as a matter of fact If you listen closely
you can hear them all sinning and rejoicing in Italian, ha ha.

Uncle Sam will be missed greatly.  I remember him singing FuniculÃ¬ FuniculÃ , and many other songs in Italian.  Great to see the pics of him singing, fishing, and having a good time with family.
