William H. Els

William "Billy" Els had quick wit and dry sense of humor. He was always a favorite friend, brother, uncle and buddy to spend time with.

Billy was raised in Dix Hills, Long Island by his parents William and Ellen Els. After graduation from Half Hollow Hills East he studied engineering at Polytechnic University receiving a bachelors and number of masters degrees in engineering. He later earned his Professional Engineering license. After graduation he worked for several large engineering firms then joined his father’s land surveying and planning business. He was a great asset when he joined Els Associates and continued on to own and operate the business in Huntington after this father’s passing.

Billy was raised with three younger sisters – Colleen, Sharon, and Christa. He fortunately gained a brother when Christa married Marc Gigliello. His nieces and nephews found their uncle to be loving, fun, and personable (and always the person they relied upon for the best directions.)

Billy’s wife Patricia filled their house with friends and relatives. Billy was fortunate to have a wife who is such a giving, loving, and generous woman and parent.

William was blessed with two step children and two children -- Aaron Patak, Allyssa Patak, Meghan Els, and the late Mason Oliver Els.
