Jean Elizabeth Wilt, 96, of Deerfield Beach, FL, passed away peacefully at her home on August 26, 2021. Born in Franklin, PA, on July 19, 1925 to James and Alice Wilkins, Jean was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. Her interests were varied and too numerous to detail.
She traveled the U.S. many times over with her husband, Eugene, who predeceased her after 64 years of marriage. Fulfilling a childhood dream, she climbed the Great Wall of China and took other international trips.
Music was a life-long passion and she enjoyed playing her organ and could play, by ear, any request which she often did at family and neighborhood gatherings. She also greatly enjoyed movies, dancing and early-American history.
She had a strong faith in the Lord and loved her church community. She was a good listener and good friend to so many and made the lives of family and friends richer.
Jean is survived by 4 children, 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren and was predeceased by her daughter. Visitation will be from 5-8pm, Thursday, Sept. 2 and a service will be held at the funeral home at 10 am, Friday, Sept. 3. Interment will follow at South Florida National Cemetery. Arrangements were made by Kraeer-Becker Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 217 E. Hillsboro Blvd., Deerfield Beach, FL, 33441.
