

John Roger Arsenault, age 89, passed from this life at his home on Wednesday, December 20, 2017, after a yearlong battle with cancer. He was born on November 22, 1928, in Gardner, MA and was the middle of three children born to Jean Albenie and Maryann (Bernard) Arsenault.
Mr. Arsenault was in the Air Force for nearly four years during the Korean War. He lived in Iowa and California, but spent most of his life residing in Massachusetts until moving his family to Florida in 1979. While living in New England, Mr. Arsenault enjoyed scuba diving for lobster. In addition to this, his favorite pastimes during his life were deep sea fishing and playing cribbage.
Mr. Arsenault was considered a “jack of all trades”. He became a Master Plumber and was also proficient in Heating and Air Conditioning work. In his later years, he taught himself how to repair antique clocks. Mr. Arsenault was a hard working individual and had a great sense of humor. His family was his priority. He was also dedicated to the family pets, which included several older dogs that he rescued from shelters. He was a long time member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Deerfield Beach, FL, where he served as an usher.
Mr. Arsenault is survived by his wife of 62 years, Helene Eva (Tanguay) Arsenault of Deerfield Beach, FL, a daughter Gisele Brown (Thomas) of Gonzales, LA, a son Gerry Arsenault (Kim) of Deerfield Beach, FL, three grandchildren, Gabrielle Watkins (Timothy) of Metairie, LA, Christian Brown of Gonzales, LA, Austin Wesmorland of Texas, two great-grandsons, Taylor and Landon Watkins, and a brother Raymond Arsenault of Keene, NH. Mr. Arsenault also leaves behind two brothers-in-law, Leon Tanguay and Lionel Tanguay, both of Sanford, ME a well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Margaret Ann Holmes of Westminster, MA.
Mr. Arsenault will be laid to rest at Our Lady Queen of Heaven in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
