Born on May 15, 1932, to Marjorie and Calvin Coghill, Sr., Tom lived a life full of purpose, joy, and generosity. He graduated from UNC Chapel Hill and built a successful career in commercial real estate development. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Tom was deeply committed to giving back, often raising funds for various charities. He was an active and devoted member of Saint Ambrose Catholic Church in Deerfield Beach.
Tom loved riding his bike, cheering on UNC sports, hosting lively Derby Day parties, and spending time with his friends and family. His warmth, humor, and generosity left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
He is survived by Nancy, his beloved wife of 69 years, as well as his children Calvin Coghill III, Cheryl (Tommy) Conrad, and Tommy Coghill Jr.; his grandchildren, Kyle (Jessica) Conrad, Thomas Coghill III, Liza (Mitchell) Hogg; and his great-granddaughter, Hadlee Hogg.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 22, 2025, at Saint Ambrose Catholic Church, 380 South Federal Highway, Deerfield Beach, FL 3344. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or The Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters in Norfolk, VA in Tom’s honor.
Although Tom’s physical presence may no longer grace our lives, his spirit will continue to inspire and uplift us. May his memory be a blessing, and may we carry forth his legacy of love and compassion in all that we do.
