

Alice Jocelyn Norton, age 91 passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2025. Alice was born on January 25, 1934 on the Navajo Indian Reservation near Sanders, Arizona, in a Traditional Hogan. She was Born of the Hónágháahnii (One-walks-around) Clan and is believed to be Born for Tachii'nii (Red Running Into the Water people) Clan.
Alice was the Matriarch of her family, who led with an enormous amount of Generational Wisdom and Knowledge. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, traditional rug making, doll making, beadwork, and baking. Her proudest moment was when she came to see her daughter's home as a first-time buyer; she was in awe. She was a member of the Native American Baptist Church in Oklahoma City. Alice was Generous, Kind, and Caring. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Clara Smith; her husband, Donald Norton; her previous husband, Walter E. Loucks; and her brothers Wilbert Smith and Wilson Smith of Sanders, Arizona.
She is survived by her children Adrienne Francis (husband Michael) and Walter W. Loucks, both of Oklahoma City, OK; brother Walter Smith (spouse Cathy) of Arizona; sisters Jean Rodriguez (spouse Dan) of Cleveland, Ohio and Jane F. Smith of Arizona; three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, one niece and one nephew.
A visitation for Alice will be held Monday, March 31, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home at Sunny Lane Cemetery, 4000 SE 29th Street, Del City, OK 73115. A graveside service will occur Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Sunny Lane Cemetery, 4000 SE 29th St., Del City, OK 73115.
