

Arnold united with Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church at an early age and was a member of the Sunday School Department. When his family moved to Oklahoma City he united with the Church of The Living God, the Pillar and Ground of the Truth where served for many years as a member of the Junior and Senior Usher Boards.
Arnold, sometimes called A.J. was raised in Arcadia, Oklahoma. He attended elementary school at Dunbar School of Arcadia. His parents relocated to Oklahoma City in 1954 where he graduated from Douglas Senior High School in 1959. On graduation from Douglas he attended Central State University (now The University of Central Oklahoma). Arnold was drafted into the Army in 1964 and after serving a tour in Vietnam he was honorably discharged. On separation from the military he and his family moved to Seattle, Washington and then to Los Angeles, California. He was employed by Pacific Bell for many years and retired in 1989. He returned to Oklahoma City and was employed at Tinker AFB as a Computer Specialist for several years.
He leaves to cherish his memories three daughter; Vickie Elaine Parks, Los Angeles, California, Angela Marie Parks, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma , and a step-daughter Mauri Hubbard, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, a granddaughter, Brandi Ludden, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma . Two grandsons; Charlie Ludden, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Aaron LaJuan Givens, Los Angeles, California, two sisters; Alrena R. Parks-Thomas, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Denise Luckett, Los Angeles, California and one brother Donald R. Parks, (wife Symiria), Montgomery, Alabama, nieces; Rochelle Nichols (Brian), Debra Thomas, and Andrea Thomas White (Bruce) all of Oklahoma City, and Tracy L. Parks, Montgomery, Alabama, Regina Luckett, Los Angeles, California and two nephews Leonardo Parks, Montgomery, Alabama and Christopher Gibson, Los Angeles, California, several great nieces and nephews, cousins, classmates and friends.
