Betty Elaine Stokes (nee Forbeck) passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at Integris Southwest Medical Center from complications following a stroke. Betty had celebrated her 90th birthday on August 5th. She was predeceased by her husband Thomas J. Stokes (died January 1, 1988). She was the beloved matriarch of her family. She had cared for all the family’s children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren throughout her happy life and took great joy in her family, as they did in her. She was involved in all the family activities, staying active and healthy until this last year.
Betty leaves behind daughter Sherilyn Cleaver, son-in-law Dan Cleaver and her son, Thomas M. Stokes as well as grandchildren Tara Stokes, TJ Stokes, Tori Stokes, Brian Fails, M.D., Kristin Ives, and only great-grandchild Lexi Ives. These family members all reside locally. She also leaves three nieces, Sheryl Fangmann of Kansas City, Kansas, Brenda Wiggins of Emporia, Kansas, and Janice Forbeck of Wichita, Kansas.
Betty will be interred without funeral or viewing in keeping with her wishes at Sunnylane Cemetery in Del City, OK alongside husband Thomas. She will be sorely missed by her family, friends and loved ones.
