Brenda Sue Lazzaro passed away on April 6, 2010, a warm spring morning. Her cause of death was complications after a liver transplant. She was born Brenda Sue McClendon on August 2, 1958 in Deming, NM. As a young woman, she was fondly remembered as independent and stubborn.
She graduated from Carl Albert High School in 1976 and in 1978 she married John Michael Lazzaro. She had two children, Michael Lazzaro and Joseph Lazzaro. With her fighting spirit, raised her sons mostly by herself. Her favorite things to do were camping and fishing, much like her mother. She always loved animals and through the years had rescued several abandoned cats, dogs, and even injured wildlife. Those close to her recall that she was always willing to lend a hand and would “do anything for you.” She developed health problems five to six years ago but survived a liver transplant and lived to see the birth of both of her grandchildren. Her renewed health, the new additions to her family, as well as her love of the people around her, made her feel, in her words “like she had been given a second chance at life.”
She is survived by her husband Robert Partlo, who cared for her through to the end of her illness, as well as her two sons, their wives, Andrea Sanchez and Carrie Lazzaro, and her grandchildren, Jostin Lazzaro (age 3) and Kymber Lazzaro (age 2). She is also survived by her mother Ada Witt, her stepfather, Roy Witt, her brother Gary McClendon, stepsisters, Donna Goll and Pamela Moody, her stepdaughter Jennifer Ramsey and husband Kenneth and many other aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. Her life was exciting and memorable, and she touched the souls of everyone who knew her.
