Carl Wade McCool was born 6/23/56 and passed away 10/21/09 after a long illness. Survivors include his wife, Tammy of 33 years; sons, Chris and Matt; 2 brothers and 4 sisters; Glen McCool and wife, Pam; Rita Johnson and husband, Ronnie; Kathy Westfall; Shirley Sloan; Brenda Langley and husband, Ed; and Mike McCool and wife, Laura; brothers and sisters-in-law: Joe and Patricia Stover, James and Maria Neimann and Gary and Elizabeth Richardson and countless other family members. He loved his family and many friends! He was the ”Computer Guru” to all of them and if he wasn’t telling them a joke or asking them if they were ready to go Honky Tonkin, you knew he wasn’t feeling well. His sense of humor was like no other and everyone who knew him knows what that means. He loved playing Diablo on the computer with his brother, Glen, brother-in-law, Jimmy, and anyone else who would play with him. There were so many times when Tammy would say, “Carl, come and look at something.” and he would say, “OK, as soon as I finish helping so and so kill this guy.” Then he would come see what Tammy wanted. He loved that GAME!!! He always wanted to do things but his health kept him from it. He would always say, “I’ll do it when I feel better.” He had a very special companion these past few years, His beloved Pit Bull, Duke. His 98 pound baby!!! That dog did no wrong not even when he ate a hole in the living room wall. Carle said, “Oh, we will fix it. He didn’t mean to do it.” He loved that dog! We loved Carl very much and will miss him terribly. His son, Matt, said one of his favorite movies was with Jack Nickelson “The Bucket List” beside the fact they could pass as twins and even had the same mannerisms. He was a leader, not a follower and he will always have him with him in his heart.“Carl’s ride at the fair”His sister-in-law, Tricia, said he loved to “pop wheelies” with her in his wheelchair. The story was they were at the fair and she, Tammy, and Chris were taking turns pushing him around (which was the only time we could push HIM around). He kept asking her if she “wanted a ride”. So she saw a great opportunity at this downhill slope and said “Hang on Carl, we’re going for a ride.” She wrapped her arms around him from behind and hopped on the back of the wheelchair. Boy was that a ride! They went flying down the hill at the same time flipping over backwards. Both landed on the ground with Tricia on top of Carl. Anyone else and he would have let them have it, but he didn’t. Although during the ride down, he did cover her with his large lemonade they had just purchased. His daily phone calls:He would try to talk to anyone he could every day to check on them. He would also ask if they wanted to come pick him up and go Honky Tonkin. He even made sure he called his brother-in-law, Joe, at least once a week while he was in Iraq. He had a special phone number so he could call him whenever he wanted. He would call his sister, Rita, everyday sometimes just to see what she was going to do that day; and then other times to make lunch or dinner plans with her. She will always cherish those phone calls. He really enjoyed those time with her.His funeral service is at 10:00 AM, Saturday, October 24, 2009 at the First Southern Baptist Church of Del City. Arrangements under the direction of Sunny Lane Funeral Home and Cemetery, Del City, OK.
