

Carol Van Pool, Carter, Stewart, Summers age 80 passed away Sunday October 27, 2013 after a 2 year a battle with Alzheimer’s. She peacefully went to be with the Lord with her kids and grandkids by her side. She was born September 25, 1933 in Winfield, KS and raised in Newkirk, Oklahoma and then moved to Oklahoma City in 1941.
She was an executive secretary for Goodwill Industries, Trinity Church of the Nazarene, Thompson Hayward Chemical Company, Standard Life Insurance and Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home until her retirement. Carol was a proud graduate of Capitol Hill School in 1951. She avidly (VOCALLY) supported her 2 brothers Don and Jack Van Pool in all of their athletic endeavors. During her life she has been a member of Southside, Oakcliff and Trinity Church of the Nazarene. One of her passions was music as she sang in numerous church choirs and small ensembles. Other passions included her kids, grandkids and great-grandkids that referred to her as GRANDMA PERCIOUS. Another one of her passions was watching Virgil play fast pitch softball and watching her brother Don coach at NW Classen. Between church and sporting events this is where she raised 3 of her kids. Her favorite teams were the Dallas Cowboys, Oklahoma State Cowboys and the New York Yankees.
She was preceded in death by her parents Carl and May Van Pool, brothers Don and Jack Van Pool; husbands Virgil Carter (1952-1979), Travis Stewart (1983-1985) and Charles Summers (1991-2004). She is survived by her kids, Lee Carter (Cathy), Lori Owens (Kieth) and Leslie Carter, Lesli Stewart, Brad Stewart (Karen) and Dana Stewart (Kris Molhusen) her precious grandkids Amber Lynn (Shannon), Virgil Lee Carter, Virgil Kieth Owens, Stephanie Franks (Kyle), William James Carter (Haley), Aimee Owens (Donald Reas). Great Grandkids Dusten, Travis, Micah, Macie, Kenney, Emma, Lea and Tinlee.
We love you so much Mom and thank you for being such an inspirational, loving, caring and supporting Mother. We will miss you.
Visitation will be Wednesday, October 30, 2013 from 6pm to 8pm at the Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home on SE 29th in Del City. Services will be held Friday, November 1, 2013 at 2pm at Trinity Church of the Nazarene 7301 S Walker, OKC. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens. Memorials may be made to Trinity Church of the Nazarene or American Alzheimer’s Association.
