

Charles Staser Shaw passed away on Thursday, February 3, 2022. He was lovingly known as Butch to his family and Chuck to his many friends. Charles was a man with a generous spirit who always loved to laugh.
He was born in Malden, Missouri on April 9, 1944 to George William and Harriett Alice (Stewart) Shaw. The Shaw family moved to Midwest City in the early 1950s when George was assigned to Tinker AFB. While he may not have been Sooner born, Charles was most certainly Sooner bred. He loved all things Oklahoma, especially the OU Sooners.
Charles served his country in Vietnam and was active duty in the United States Air Force for 8 years. In 1973, he returned home to Oklahoma to raise his family. He was employed at Tinker AFB for over 30 years, and retired as an Industrial Mechanic. Charles also continued his military service in the Oklahoma National Guard serving 21 years, retiring as a Sergeant First Class.
He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He married Brenda Marlene Lilly on September 27, 1968 in Austin, Texas. Charles and Brenda were married for 41 years until her death.
Charles is survived by daughters, Amy Shaw, Mary Clark, and Joy Shaw; grandsons Shawn Richardson, Paul Clark, and David Clark; his siblings, Karen Lind and husband Bob, Stewart Shaw and wife Nancy, and sister-in-law Sharon Shaw, as well as a host of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife Brenda, parents, brother Jim Shaw and his wife Linda, and his brother Dell Shaw.
