The family moved to Faribault, Minnesota when Connie was three years. She attended St. Lawrence Catholic School through 8th grade, then graduated from Faribault High School in 1949. Upon graduation she worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Globisch prior to marrying Tom Hanscom in 1950. Her marriage was the beginning of her life as a military wife (initially with the Marine Corps and then the Air Force) and her life as the mother of five. Connie was a proud and professional homemaker living in 22 different houses around the world making each and every one of them a welcoming and cozy haven for family and friends. It was an art form for her! And she did it very well.
Connie is survived by three of her five children: Kevin Hanscom (Cheryl), Peggy White (Ron) and Angie Poole; 10 grandchildren: Lynde Alvarez (Martin), Andrea Adams (Steve), Elise Adams (Blaine), Chris White, Paul White, Bridget White, Shelby Poole, Megan Saucedo, Caitie Hanscom (Bobby), Shannon Mitchener (Matt deceased); 20 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren as well as a multitude of nieces and nephews.
She is pre-deceased by her husband Tom Hanscom (2014), son Steve Hanscom (2006) and daughter Lindy Barker (2009); her parents, and her only sibling brother Pat Bieter and his wife Eloise (1999).
