Coy G. Abrams

Coy Gene Abrams went to be with his Lord on October 2, 2025, surrounded by his cherished family. Opa to many, was born to Courtney and Jewel Abrams on February 23, 1932, in Elk City, Oklahoma. He lived in Elk City until the 5th Grade and then he and his mother moved to Oklahoma City, where he lived until his Freshman year in high school where he then joined the 45th Division of the National Guard. He joined the Navy in July of 1950. While he was stationed in Germany he met the love of his life, Ursula. After marrying Ursula on July 31, 1954, they moved to Morocco, North Africa and then to Oklahoma City where they started their family. After the Navy, Coy worked as an Aircraft Electrician Installer and then worked for the Federal Aviation Administration, where he worked 40 years before retiring. With three biological children of his own, when Ursula’s older sister passed away, he and Ursula took in the four children raising them as their own. Coy was a huge OKC Thunder fan. He looked forward to watching and cheering on the team with each and every game. He was a licensed pilot who enjoyed flying. He had a great passion for flying model airplanes and was part of a club. He also loved woodworking and had a woodworking shop in his garage for many years, where he made clocks, banana and wine holders, along with bird cages. He loved to tell jokes no matter how corny they were and would tell them over and over again. Coy was passionate about his family and was always calling and checking on them. Coy was preceded in death by his mother, Jewel, his beloved daughter, Sandy, and his beloved and cherished wife, Ursula. Coy is survived by his son, Russell Abrams and wife, Cheryl of Albion, Indiana; daughter, Janette Owens of Bonham, Texas; daughter, Judy Dombkowski of San Antonio, Texas; son, Randy Abrams of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; son, Phillip Fielder and Teri of Tuttle, Oklahoma; daughter, Connie Bingham and Mike of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
