David J. Machamer of Del City, passed away suddenly on December 2, 2008, at the age of 86. David was born December 10, 1921, in St. Nicholas, Pennsylvania, to the late John O. and Mary Jones Machamer. David proudly served in the Army during World War II and retired from Tinker Air Force Base in 1988. He was a faithful member of the Ascension Lutheran Church in Del City for over 43 years. David loved his family, his sons, daughter-in-law, and his granddaughters. David is preceded in death by his wife Mary Ann, his parents, and two sisters Ada and Mary Lou. David is survived by his two sons, David, Jr. and wife, Nancy of Edmond; Son John of Oklahoma City, and granddaughters Jessica Robinson and husband Jason of Norman, Allison Machamer, and Emily Machamer, one brother Robert J. Machamer of Kutztown, PA and three nieces Suzanne Billman, Lisa Schreyer and Donna Schreyer. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in David’s memory to the Ascension Lutheran Church, 3617 S. E. 29th Street, Del City, OK 73115. Services will be held this Saturday at 2 p.m. at Sunny Lane Funeral Home, 4000 S. E. 29th in Del City, with interment at Sunny Lane Funeral Cemetery.
