

born October 26, 1938 in Boliver, Missouri to Ervin and Mary Bisbee and was the youngest of
six children.
He was raised in Springfield, Missouri up until he joined the United States Navy in 1956. In
September 1964, while stationed at Naval Air Station Keflavik, Iceland, he met the love of his
life Gudfridur (Frida) Olafsdottir where they were later married in Miami, Oklahoma.
In 1965 he was reassigned to Lakehurst, New Jersey where he and Frida welcomed their first
child Mary. He later transferred to Long Beach, California where he served on the USS Hornet,
CVS-12 where he and his crew was responsible for retrieving Apollo 11 after its first moon
landing.
While later assigned to HAL-3 Helicopter Attack Squadron in the Makong Delta, he met his
lifelong friend Jim Perinovic.
In 1970, he was stationed with the Patrol Squadron VP-30 supporting the P-3 aircraft at NAS
Moffett Field, California.
He was deployed to Naval Air Station Rota AB, Spain in 1971 where he re-joined up with Jim
and now Sonia Perinovic. In 1972, Doyle and Frida welcomed their second child Donald.
After a few years in Spain, Doyle transferred to the VA 66 Squadron at Naval Air Station Cecil
Field, Florida where he worked on A-7 aircraft and finished his 20-year Naval career in 1977 as
an Aviation Structural Mechanic.
Upon leaving the Navy, he relocated to Liberal, Kansas where he worked as a welder in the
oilfield and later as an aviation inspector for Beech Aircraft.
In the early 1980’s, he started a civil service career at Tinker AFB as an A-7 mechanic. He and
Frida also started developing a successful business investing and owning real estate properties.
In 1993, Doyle retired from Tinker AFB where he and Frida spent several years traveling the
United States in their motorhome and going on cruises across the world. He liked going to the
lake, spending time with family and was a life member with the Midwest City Elks and member
of the Fleet Reserve Association.
Doyle is survived by his wife Frida of 56 years of Choctaw, Oklahoma. His sister, Shirley
(Bisbee) Bruton of Springfield, Missouri. His daughter Mary (Bisbee) Amundson and husband
Bob of Del City, Oklahoma and Son Donald C. Bisbee and wife Tera of Midwest City,
Oklahoma. He was also the proud of his grandchildren: Timothy Toll, Donald C. Bisbee II, Dina
(Amundson)Brown, Aerial (Bisbee) Martin, Katelyn Bisbee and great grandson Tyson Brown.
He is proceeded in death by his parents; siblings: Eldon Bisbee, Eloise (Bisbee) West, Loretta
(Bisbee) King, and Maxine “Myrna” (Bisbee) Presley.
Visitation is scheduled for January 4, 2022 from 4-8 pm and funeral services will be held at 2:00
pm on January 5, 2022 at the Bill Eisenhower Funeral Home located at 5005 SE 29th Street in
Del City, Oklahoma. Burial services will be at 1 pm January 8, 2022 in Springfield, Missouri.
