

He grew up in Omaha and attended Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and school. He also attended Creighton Prep Catholic High School and loved to play hockey. Upon graduation, he proudly joined the US Navy and served in the “silent service” (submarine duty) during the Korean War aboard the USS Carp. While stationed in San Diego, he met his future bride, Ida May Enge. Frank and Idy were married on Feb 28, 1951. Frank loved lifting weights, diesel trucks and nice cars. He was very proud of his 65 Chevy Impala which he showed in local San Diego car shows.
He was preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife; brother, Joseph Scalzo; brother-in-law, Edward DeJoy; and great-granddaughter, Angelina Hope Harke. He is survived by his children, Michael Scalzo, Steven Scalzo (Danguole), Susan Scalzo; his sister Gloria DeJoy; sister-in-law, Ellen Scalzo; grandchildren, Steven Scalzo II (Becka), Krista Harke (Mark), Brandon Scalzo, Jennifer Scalzo, Steven Ito, Tiana Ito and Anthony Scalzo; great-grandchildren, Alex, Izzy, Liam and Jake Harke as well as many nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 3rd, 2014, at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church, Harrah, OK, with Father Prakash Madineni officiating. Interment will follow at St. Teresa’s Catholic Cemetery, Harrah, OK. Condolences may be offered at www.eisenhourfuneral.com
