Our Freddie spent his life growing up surrounded by his family and friends. He enjoyed spending time with everyone and cracking jokes. Freddie was a bright soul from the moment he came into this world till the moment he slipped away. He had one goal in life, and it was to make people smile, a goal he achieved with such ease. This made him easy to love because you knew he just wanted everyone to be happy. Freddie was there for everyone in his life unconditionally. It did not matter if you were blood or started as a friend then became blood through the years.
He was a giver of his heart and the best hugs you could ever have. They were not just hugs; they were “Freddie Hugs”. If you got a “Freddie Hug” he knew you needed it. He gave these hugs to everyone. He could wipe away tears, fears, and anger with one of his signature hugs. It goes without saying; he was loved by all very much. He made everyone he came in contact with feel safe and loved.
If you ask anyone who knew him; what is Freddie’s passion? They would be hard pressed to say anything other than Basketball. He loved to play, discuss, and watch the game of Basketball. Asking him; “Who is the one man you need to watch?” his answer would be one name, “LeBron James”. Watching games with Freddie was its own level of entertainment. He would cheer one moment and fire everyone on the court the next, and this included the coaches. He would do this several times in a game when he thought they were playing in his words “like trash”. But he always loved to watch, win or lose.
There was never a dull moment when this young man was around. Freddie had a smile so bright and contagious you smiled instantly when you would see him. He could bring light to every dark day. His pride and joy was his mother, Ginny, and he loved her fiercely. To Freddie, family was everything. He said many times, “I wouldn’t want to live a day without any of you in my life”. He was the protector of anyone he saw as family. He was the little big Brother to his siblings.
