Gladys E. Netherton

In the arms of Jesus

Beloved mother, grandmother and sister went to be with the Lord on November 16, 2014.

She was born on June 5, 1933 in Ellijay, Georgia to Mark and Dimple (Grant) Brown.

Gladys is survived by her two children, Robert Hensley of Stillwater, OK and Felicia (Lesia) Valente and husband Jay of Moore, OK; grandson, Logan Watkins of Cashion OK; sisters, Carolyn Turner and husband Vernon and Emily Brown; brother-in-law, George Tallent; many nieces, nephews and cousins all from GA. She was preceded in death by parents; husband, Cliff Netherton; infant son, Chuck Hensley; brother, Donald Brown of GA; sisters, Paralle Youmans and Charlotte Tallent from GA.

Stubborn, strong-willed, ornery, loving, generous, kind, caring…all words to use to describe Gladys.

She held jobs as a welder of airplane parts, a cake decorator and a seamstress but her most treasured

accomplishment was owning a beauty salon at ManorCare Nursing Home for 20 years. She had fond memories

of spending her days with the residents at ManorCare and cherished the friendships she made there.

Above all else, she was a caring wife, mother and grandmother who will be missed by her family and all of those whose lives she touched. Funeral Service officiated by Reverend Bill Blair.
