

Gladys Levon James, beloved wife, mother and Memaw, passed away June 5, 2016 at the age of 86. She was born on September 15, 1929 in Hedley, Texas to William Thomas (W.T.) and Sophia (Melton) Smith.
Gladys was a homemaker while her children were small, then worked as a switchboard operator/manager at the Planet Inn Motel in Midwest City, Oklahoma for 18 years. She was also a cashier at Conn-Rad Drug in Midwest City for several years. She was an active member in the 40&8 as a LaFemme for 20 years and loved to dance with the love of her life.
She was preceded by death by her parents; loving husband O.Z. of 68 years; five siblings, Lloyd Smith, Mary Kile, Ruby Fuller, Helen Higdon and Willie Barks. She is survived by her two loving daughters, Donna Reed & Terry of Millcreek, OK, Diane Locklear & Glen of St Louis, MO; one grandson, James David Hayes (Darla); four granddaughters, Terra Allen (Russell), Crystal Watson, Leah Houtz (Justin) and Bethany Locklear; four great-grandsons, Landon Watson, Brendan and Brycen Allen, Chandler Hayes; and three great-granddaughters, Delaney Hayes, Reagan and Avery Houtz. She is survived by numerous nieces, nephews & a countless number of friends.
She will be greatly missed by all! Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 9, 2016, at the Bill Eisenhour Southeast Chapel with internment at Arlington Memory Gardens. Condolences may be offered at www.eisenhourfuneral.com
