Harold Edward Jones was born June 29, 1939 in Garvin, Oklahoma, the son of Wilburn and Pollie Jones. He passed from this life March 13, 2017 in Oklahoma City at the age of 77 years, 8 months and 12 days. Harold went to grade school in Wright City, Oklahoma and attended and graduated from John Marshall High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1961-1963. He worked as a Warehouse Specialist for the Housing Authority and retired in 2009. Harold was a very giving person, always thinking of others and would give willingly. He was a jokester and shared many stories. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy who passed away in 2004; a step-daughter, Annette Higgins and a step-son, Darrell Duvall. Harold is survived by his sister, Inez Dobbs of Oklahoma City who was his caregiver during his illness; step-daughters,Carol Hardee, Alice Moore and Barbara Cook and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held Friday, March 17, 2017 from 8am to 8pm. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 10am at the chapel of Sunny Lane Funeral Home with Rev. Ray Myers officiating. Interment will follow at Sunny Lane Cemetery.
