

He left High School to join the Army 69th Division in 1944 during World War II. He served in the European and Pacific theaters. He was awarded several medals including the Bronze Star for leading a patrol into hostile territory to make the first contact with the Russian allies, cutting the dwindling Reich into two isolated halves. He left the Army with the rank of Sergeant.
After the war, he worked for the River Oaks Texas Police Force and the Convair Air Craft military factory. While at Convair, he met Naomi Hooe and they were married in Ft. Worth Texas on March 6th, 1953.
He moved with his family to Oklahoma in 1958 to take a job at Tinker Air Force Base. He worked as a Plastic and Glass worker from 1958 until his retirement in 1989. He was a long time member of the Ridgecrest Church of Christ. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother and sister and his beloved wife Naomi.
Survivors include two daughters and sons in law. Linda and Gerry Reichelt II, Becky and Jeff Berry and four grandchildren, Phillip and Cooper Reichelt, Alex and Sarah Berry, and his longtime friend Ezra Boggs.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, August 9, 2012 at Bill Eisenhour Southeast Chapel with interment at Arlington Memory Gardens.
