

Herbert Kues of Del City went to be with his Lord and Savior on Dec. 31, 2022. He was born on June 25, 1935, to Wilhelmina and Karl Kues on the family farm near Fleming, CO and grew up there attending Fleming schools. He was active in sports while in high school. After graduating he attended Northeastern Junior College, Sterling, CO for one and a half years and then went to work at the AG Grocery Store in Julesburg, CO where he worked until being drafted into the navy in 1956 and served at Miramar Naval Air Station, San Diego, CA until released from active duty into the inactive Naval reserve, in November 1957. He returned to Montrose, CO and worked at J.C. Penney Co. until September 1961.
He was married to Joyce Bauer on May 31, 1958. He joined the Air Force in September, 1961 where he served until February 28, 1990, for a total of 30 years of active military duty retiring as CMSgt. He was stationed in or visited a total of 32 foreign countries or Islands while in the military. He then worked for Boeing and Delaware Resource Group as a Course developer for the Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS) for 25 years.
He is survived by his loving wife Joyce, of 64 years, three sons; Rick, and wife Carla, Scott and Mark, two grandchildren; Kyle and wife Rhoda, Kevin and two great-grandchildren, Henley and Konrad, one brother Harold and wife Mary Lee.
