Jacqueline Lee Holliman of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, died June 27th, 2024, at Integris Southwest Medical Center at the age of 80. She is survived by her husband, her two children, seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Jacqueline was a beautician by trade for many years, and to this day her beauty operator’s license remains current. When she was 50 years old, she went back to school and attended OCCC in Oklahoma City. She achieved her Associate’s Degree in occupational therapy, and as a Physical Therapy Assistant she worked until she retired at the age of 65. She loved working with older people, showing them the dignity and compassionate care they deserved.
Prior to her passing, Jacqueline was a loving and devoted wife for 59-1/2 years and a devoted Christian. On earth she served God by her belief and trust in Jesus Christ. Jacqueline demonstrated her faith through her service to the Catholic Church, her faithfulness to her husband, and her love for her family. As a mother she loved her husband and children unconditionally and loved taking care of her family. She enjoyed family gatherings and making sure everyone had plenty to eat and drink, “She wouldn’t ever let you get it yourself”.
Tina Stephens summed it up today when she said, “When I think of the words 'wife and mother', that was Aunt Jackie. She did it effortlessly and she loved it.” One of the major highlights of her life was becoming a grandmother.
Jacqueline Lea Hurley was born on November 8, 1943, in Kansas City, MO. She is the daughter of Jerome J Hurley and Dorothy E Hurley (Rollheiser). She was the youngest of three daughters. She was, and is loved and adored by both of her sisters, Mary Ann Doorman (Hurley) and Donna Sue Baker (Hurley).
Jacqueline (Jackie) married Ealie Arion Holliman Jr (Buddy) on November 6, 1965. Together Jackie and Buddy raised their son, Arion and daughter, Nanette. Buddy retired as Master Sergeant after serving in the US Army National Guard and US Air Force for a combined 30 years. Jackie courageously served by his side as a devoted wife and mother. Jackie fearlessly and lovingly created homes for her family at each of Buddy’s duty stations. It didn’t matter if she was in Altus, OK, Bitburg, Germany or Alamogordo, New Mexico, Jackie made sure her husband and children knew they were loved.
Her son Arion was born on August 13, 1966, at Saint Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK. He married Susan Anita Clements, and lives in Carrollton, Texas. Together Arion and Susan Holliman have four children: a daughter, Danielle Shifflett, and three sons, Jonathan Andrew Holliman, Christopher Aaron Holliman and Jesse Dylan Clements. “Throughout my life, my mother has been my source of encouragement and my example of unconditional love and patience. She along with my father have been there when others abandoned me”.
Nanette was born at Altus Air Force Base Medical Center on May 4, 1970. She has three children, Simon Gauthier, Madeline Gauthier and Harrison Gauthier. Nanette resides in Oklahoma City. Simon and his family live west of OKC. Madeline and Harrison are still at home with Nanette. “My mother just believed everything would work out and be okay through prayer and surrender to God. God has a plan, and everything happens for a reason, we don’t always know why. Although I am so very sad, I am happy for her to be free from pain and home with Jesus.”
Jackie’s unconditional love for her family was/is endless. Jackie’s life is a never-ending story of selflessness and sacrifice. Her love for her family knew no bounds. Her faith and trust in God gave her the strength she needed, and she always held us high. Her husband, two children, seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren are a testament of her love, faith and courage.
These are her grandchildren and great grandchildren in order of birth: Danielle Shifflett of Yukon, OK, married to Jerry, parents of two beautiful children, Caroline and Payton; Jonathan Andrew Holliman of North Richland Hills TX, married to Samantha, parents of two beautiful children, Jackson and Sierra; Christopher Aaron Holliman currently serving in the United States Air Force. He and his significant other, Crystal, have a beautiful daughter, Elliana; Simon Edward Gauthier of Mustang, OK, married to Treyle, parents of a daughter, Ryan Jade with number two on the way some time between now and the end of July; Madeline Jade Gauthier, dental hygiene student at Rose State College, and Harrison Reid Gauthier, Certified Diesel Mechanic for Penske in Oklahoma City.
Jackie was and is a truly amazing woman. As a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, her love for her family is her signature. Her love for her husband cannot be described in words.
