James Carl Hatfield, Jr., 82, passed away on June 30, 2016. He was born on February 2, 1934 in Oklahoma City, OK to James Carl Sr. and Lucy Irene (Gay) Hatfield.

James graduated from Crooked Oak High School in the early 50’s and later joined the Army and served our country from 1955-1961. He enjoyed fishing, collecting eagles and trains, watching OU football, Thunder basketball and UW Superior hockey. He worked as a heat and air specialist at the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building until his retirement.

James was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Wanda L. Hatfield. Survivors include his son, Phillip W. Hatfield, Sr. (Carrie); grandsons, Craig Allen Hatfield (Tara), Phillip Wayne Hatfield, Jr; great-grandchildren, Camden, Savannah, Gwendolyn, Lucas, Victoria and Solomon Hatfield; sister, Wanda Anderson; and his cat, Lucy.

Our family would like to thank the Shawnee Care Center staff for their loving care and support over the last six months. Also, Dr. GiGi Toma, Dr. Ghulom, and Dr. Taylon Minor from St. Anthony Hospital for all the wonderful care provided during James' hospital visits. Our hearts are grateful for the compassion each of you have shown to our family.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 7, 2016 at the Bill Eisenhour Northeast Chapel, 8805 NE 23rd Street, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73141
