

James “Jim” McDonald, 90, of Del City, OK passed away on December 10, 2020. James was born in Grand Forks, North Dakota on July 29, 1930, to John “Jack” McDonald and Mabel Knutson. He moved to Oklahoma in 1976 and worked for the Mid-Del School District for 18 years, as well as owning his own painting business. Jim liked working with his hands, loved the outdoors, golfing, dancing and loved traveling when he was able to. His biggest accomplishment was his 45 years of sobriety.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Mabel; wife Martha McDonald; sister, Donna Hellekson; brother, Neil Bruce; son, Lyle McDonald; partner Margaret Smith.
He is survived by his sisters, Clair Haugen and Shirley Kresl; his children, Larry McDonald and wife Alice; Dennis McDonald and wife Tina; Bonnie Jones and husband Larry; Neal McDonald; his grandchildren, Craig and Chad McDonald; Denise McDonald; Lynette Stehr and husband Andrew; Judy Pratt and husband Paul; Jeff Jones and wife Suni; Zackery McDonald and Katelyn McDonald; several great and great-great grandchildren as well as his beloved cat Tommy.
He was loved and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Visitation will be held at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home in Del City, OK on Thursday, December 17, 2020 from 4 to 8pm. Memorial service to be determined at a later date.
