I was roomates with Jay from July 4 1979 - Sep 13 1980 at Co B 6/32 ND Armor 4TH ID Fort Carson Co. I was extremely saddened to learn of his passing this morning as I had tried to look him up on Facebook and landed here. We both were E-4's when I arrived and both made E-5 at the same time which in 3 yrs time is a testament to Jay's character. I looked at the pictures and was saddened and then happy. I recalled everything from the way Jay held his cigarette to the radio he is listening to perched atop his Tank. We were "thick as thieves" and I remember how upset we both were when my time to discharge grew near. I will never forget you Jay. Soldier On...

Daddy, I miss you so much and love you. You are the best daddy any girl could have. Love your punk!

RIP Jay, you were one of the first guys I met when I moved to Del City. You always had a kind soul, I will miss you.

Such a sweet caring guy gone way too soon.  Jay you will be missed by so many.  We still have so many memories to hold on to.  I will always remember when you would call the house and when I answered the phone I can still hear your voice just say "Caren" and the way you would say it.  :)
